My speech
My speech topic is kiwi. I chose this topic because kiwi are in danger. When I presented my speech I felt COOL. What I did well was I was confident. What I could have done better was use eye contact.
My Speech:
Did you know kiwi are dying? Kiwi are birds that some say used to fly. Kiwi are brown, have a long beak, little wings and strong legs. Kiwi live in the forest or bushes. The Kiwi is used to represent NZ and it’s the names of some sports teams.
Firstly kiwi are dying because people are driving too fast around the corners and it kills the kiwi on the side of the road. SO LISTEN PEOPLE!! Slow down on the roads and around the corners.
Secondly, kiwi are dying because of the drought. The kiwi’s to leave their burrows and travel to find water and this is dangerous. Kiwis have also needed to be rescued because of the drought.
Finally, I will tell you the last reason kiwi are dying. Kiwi are being killed by predators such as cats, dogs, stoats, rats and weasels.
If kiwi weren't alive we wouldn't be able to be called Kiwis. I think we should look after the Kiwi in NZ. I have a forest and I went into the forest and I saw a kiwis whole and I saw a kiwi.

Monster DNA
If a capital letter represents a dominant trait and a lowercase letter represents a recessive trait, what will your own DNA monster look like?
Mum and I drew a monster using the dominat or recessive genes. Our drawings showed that the DNA for everyone will not be the same. Mine is on the left and Mum's is on the right.

Crystals
We had to dissolve the sugar/salt in the water until it was saturated - would not dissolve
anymore. We added food colouring then put our shaped pipe cleaner or string into the
solution. We have to be patient until crystals form.

Legs in a Barn
Harley counted the number of legs he saw in the barn. He told his mum he saw 30 legs. If the animals that Harley saw were some chickens (2 legs), some calves (4 legs), and some bees (6 legs). How many of each animal could Harley have seen if he saw 30 legs.
Solve this problem using the best strategy.
Here is Waiahi's solution:
